We’ve all tried a bad green juice at some point in our lives- they taste bitter, savory, and overall… just gross. Yes, they are healthy and great for your body, but at what cost? No one wants to drink something that tastes badly! What if I told you I made a green juice recipe with all of the health benefits of a classic green juice, but improved taste?
That’s exactly what this recipe is! It contains healthy vegetables, low sugar fruits, and lots of essential vitamins and minerals.
It’s made out of only a few delicious and healthy ingredients:
Spinach, kale, celery, apple, cucumber, and lime. I suppose you could use lemon in place of lime, however, then the green juice takes on more of a classic green juice taste. Instead, the lime masks some of the veggie flavors.
In general, this green juice specifically is super low calorie, high in vitamin C, and really hydrating. It can also aid with digestion if you drink it early in the morning before you eat anything.
Instructions –
It’s important to know your juicer and the size of fruit and vegetable chunks it can handle. For my juicer, however, the produce can be around 1-2 inch cubes.
I have THIS JUICER, and you can purchase it here. It’s so easy to clean, simple to use, and overall it works really quickly! I can have my juices done in minutes at most.
I cut the lime in half, the mini cucumbers into thirds, the apples into small cubes, and the celery stalks into thirds as well. As for the kale, I gently ripped it into small pieces, about as big as the spinach.
Then, feed the fruits and vegetables through your juicer in an alternating pattern. Mine went something like this: celery, cucumber, a handful of kale, a few pieces of apple, a handful of spinach, repeat.
Then, I added the lime last and stirred the finished juice to ensure the lime flavor is incorporated throughout.
Then, store in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Most of my juices store for up to a week, however, this one really doesn’t keep well. Honestly, although it can be stored, it is best served immediately or day of preparing.
Happy juicing! Enjoy!!
