Since getting my juicer, I’ve done a lot of experimenting. I’ve juiced fruits and vegetables together, a LOT of lemon and ginger, and more. This juice, however, was my first time ever making a juice that’s mostly made of sweet fruits. I used what we had in our house that went together, and it turned out AMAZING, not to mention, its extremely high vitamin C content is just what everyone needs right now to protect and strengthen their immune systems.
Ingredients:
It starts with 5 ingredients: mango, orange, carrots, lemon, and pineapple. And it turns into the best fruit juice I’ve ever had. My one note is: the carrot flavor is very mild. If you want a more prominent flavor, add two extra carrots.
The oranges provide one of the major sources of vitamin C in this juice. They have also been linked to preventing skin damage, lowering cholesterol, regulating blood pressure to their high amounts of vitamin K, and controlling blood sugar.
Like the oranges, carrots also are high in vitamin C. They are high in beta carotene, vitamin B6, and natural sugars. Because of this, they have also been linked to regulating blood sugar.
Pineapple is extremely high in vitamin C and manganese, along with other micronutrients that can help strengthen your bodies immune system. They can be helpful at easing digestion, soothing inflammation (especially arthritis,) and can even help your body heal faster after surgery.
Mango is seen as a dessert fruit in my family. It’s SO sweet, almost buttery, and overall one of the best fruits to ever exist on this planet. While high in sugars, they are also high in antioxidants, can support your skin and hair health, and because of their vitamin C content, they can support good eyesight and boost immunity.
Lemon (surprise!) is also high in vitamin C, however, they can help prevent kidney stones, protect against anemia, reduce cancer risk, and aid in weight loss.
Instructions:
The first step, after gathering the ingredients, is to chop them up into a size your juicer can handle. I have the AICOK slow masticating juicer, and I cut my fruits and vegetables into roughly the size in this picture:
As I said in my first REAL juice article (you can find it here,) I like to add the fruits in an alternating pattern so it’s easy to combine and incorporate later before drinking. So, add a piece of orange, then pineapple, then mango, then carrot, etc. I add the lemon last, then mix the juice and add it to an airtight container and shake before drinking. It stores for up to a week in the fridge! However, in my house, it tends to go way quicker than that.
