I have been known to pay WAY too much for a small 2 oz. container of “immunity shots” in any trendy juice store. Packed full of vitamin C, these immunity shots are so healthy. Happily, I recreated those expensive immunity shots, and the end result tasted exactly the same!
About the Immunity Shot Recipe:
DIY immunity shots are super helpful for the upcoming fall allergy season! This recipe is pretty simple, and only uses a few ingredients! Plus, it is so much less expensive compared to the store-bought.
Notes on the Juicer:
The shots can not be made without a juicer. This is the juicer I use, it’s slow masticating, and it’s available on amazon through the link below.
Ingredients:
The ingredient list for this recipe seems extensive! They all, however, work towards increasing immunity.
Lemon Juice is high in vitamin c, as well as super hydrating. Apple Cider Vinegar is antimicrobial and also aids in lowering blood sugar levels. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, and ginger aids digestion and can help settle the stomach as well. Cayenne Pepper also aids digestion and can also help lower blood pressure. Local honey frequently includes local pollen which helps increase immunity and decrease allergy symptoms, and black Pepper aids red blood cell production.
Directions
First, juice your lemons into a large bowl. Then, in a smaller bowl, add the cayenne, black pepper, and local honey.
Put the bowl of honey and spices in the microwave and heat for about 20 seconds. The honey is melted and thin enough to combine with apple cider vinegar. Add the ACV, then mix.
In a smaller bowl, use a masticating juicer to juice the ginger and turmeric.
Then, add all of these mixtures to the same bowl. Transfer to a mason jar, and shake to combine well.
